Why we exist
When her older daughter was two, our founder watched the screen turn. It began with a handful of genuinely good videos. Then the recommendation engine took over โ an endless reel of colored slime, toy cars, and the same loud loop, each with billions of views and nothing behind them. None of it was made for her daughter. All of it was made to keep her watching.
She and her husband went looking for an app that put them back in charge of what their child saw. They couldn't find one โ so they decided to build it.
That became WeKids โ where the parent, not an algorithm, decides.
